Summerhill Road Vineyard

Summerhill Road owners Anthony and Sarah decided to follow their dreams and buy the small beautiful vineyard a few years ago. At the time Anthony was studying viticulture and Sarah loved drinking wine – a perfect match really!

To seal the deal, they were given (by the previous owners) a big red tractor and a black dog, and the rest is history.

Summerhill Road Vineyard was the start of a dream, a life-long passion to live on the land and to produce award-winning wine. The vineyard welcomes guests to experience what a vineyard is all about – tasting wine.

You will find the vineyard on Summerhill Road which is located six kilometres along Bungendore Road after turning off from the Federal Highway.

Lark Hill Biodynamic Winery

Lark Hill was established in 1978 by Sue and Dave Carpenter, high on the escarpment above Bungendore, 30 kilometres north-east of Canberra.

Lark Hill is a cold vineyard and at 860 metres elevation and is one of the highest plantings in the Canberra District. The soils are shallow depleted shale over clay and the vineyard receives 600 milemetres of rainfall annually.

The winery grows Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Gruner Veltliner.

Lark Hill seeks to translate the balance and vibrancy of the fruit to the wines, using minimal intervention winemaking techniques to ensure that the wine reflects the geology, climate and location of its vineyard.

Lake George Winery

Lake George Winery is an award-winning boutique winery located at “Westering” on the Federal Highway, Lake George (near Collector) about 30 minutes north of Canberra.

The 150-hectare property overlooks the spectacular Lake George and is surrounded by the magnificent, rolling hills of the Cullerin Escarpment.

The winery is renowned for premium cool climate wines such as Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Tempranillo, Shiraz and Pinot Noir.

Its wines are made with minimal interference, allowing full expression of the character of the vineyard.

Collector Wines

Collector Wines produces small quantities of table wine. Grapes are sourced from a group of growers farming on the characteristic lean pink granites and reddish shale loams of the Canberra District.

The wines are hand-made for balance, character and depth of flavour, and is made near Collector, on the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales.

A cellar favourite is the Marked Tree Red Shiraz 2012, a classic vintage with a lively crimson colour and complex with dark cherry, blackberry, pepper and aniseed – a savoury, textured mouthfeel.
