Ducks Nuts Bar & Grill has become a much-loved pillar of Dickson’s famed foodie hub, serving a delicious array of pub grub and beverages that we have all come to know and love from the local watering hole.
Whether you are catching up with old friends over a long lunch and cheeky wine, watching the footy on the big screen with the boys and beer in hand or casual family dinner, the Ducks Nuts menu boasts a dish for every taste and member of the clan.
If you are yet to experience the superb hospitality of Ducks Nuts for yourself, here’s a little taster of what you can expect. Warning – you will become a regular at first bite!
Part of the small bites selection, a crowd favourite is the Crispy Smoked Chicken Wings with BBQ sauce. Order these crispy morsels of goodness if you are after a finger-lickin’ bite to curb your munchies. Each piece is evenly coated in a flavoursome casing that’s perfectly subtle in smokiness and locks in the succulent moisture of the tender meat. With a swift motion, you can suck each wing off the bone dry.
Another dish that’s great for sharing is the Peking Duck Chips with melted cheese, roast duck, crispy shallots, aioli, coriander and hoisin sauce. A delightful choice with an Asian twist, this dish is a fun and tasty starter to any meal.
However, for the ultimate gathering you must order the famed Ducks Nuts Platter, which is a proud signature of the venue. This huge share plate features a colourful array of Duck’s Nuts best starters and is not for the faint hearted. Order to share among four people or if you’re game and extra hungry, why not take on the challenge and conquer the platter on your own. Brace yourself for a smorgasbord of crispy smoked chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, beer battered onion rings, crumbed jalapeno poppers, duck sliders and salt and pepper calamari.
You can also find all of the tasty pub classics including schnitty, steak and, of course, the good ol’ burger. Ducks Nuts has taken out the title of Best Burger at this year’s AHA ACT Hospitality Awards so you can rest assured that any burger on the menu is the best in town. For a sure guaranteed satisfying feed, order the Beef Burger with cheese, crispy maple bacon and pickles, encased in a soft bun and served with crispy fries. Or, if you’re after a burger but with a slightly different twist, yet still packing a flavour punch, try the Chicken Parmigiana Burger with tomato, basil and mozzarella. What you see is what you get with these pub staples – a true testament to letting quality ingredients speak for themselves.
Moving on to a guilt-free lunch that’s equally as fresh as it is filling, you can’t go past the Grilled Halloumi and Pumpkin Salad. Showcasing a delicate balance of sweet and savoury, the salad features thinly sliced and grilled halloumi and pumpkin served atop a bed of baby kale, sprinkled with spiced pepitas and drizzled in a creamy honey and mustard dressing. Opt for this salad if you are after a light lunch that’s filled with the nutrients of veggies to keep you going throughout the day.
For those with a sweet tooth, a must-try is the Smashed Chocolate Brownie Sundae with Salted Caramel Popcorn. This colossal dessert is a stunning visual – a beautiful mess of perfectly cooked brownie, fresh strawberries, dollops of whipped cream, mint leaves and a delicate dusting of icing sugar. The star of the dessert is the salted caramel popcorn, which is generously placed atop. Make sure you get a bit of every element in each spoonful to experience a burst of sweet textures on the palate.
Ducks Nuts also offers weekly specials and events including Monday $15 schnitzelhaus night and trivia; Tuesday $15 steak night; Wednesday $15 burger night with craft beer; Friday and Saturday night live music; and Sunday $20 roast all day with all the trimmings.
Ducks Nuts is a gathering place for everyone, filled with an abundance of natural light and charming brick and rustic décor detailing. It’s a social, fun and casual space that’s all about impeccable service in a friendly, stylish and approachable setting.
