Let’s be real…. We don’t care if we can’t afford a house, as long as we get a mouth-watering dose of smashed avo to fulfil our every (non-financial) need. We are taking a moment to thank mother nature for the greeny goodness that enhances just about every dish – we get it guac is extra.

Here’s our top picks, you’ll thank us later.

Penny University

Cue drooling in 3, 2, 1…At Penny’s, avo is teamed up with a smooth goat’s cheese and smashed on toasted dark rye. To take it that step further, it’s served with a charred corn and quinoa tabouleh, kick of chilli oil and topped with that perfectly cooked 65/65 egg. Oh, and you can throw in some smoky Pialligo Bacon for extra satisfaction.

The Cupping Room

Each season we are blessed by the Cupping gods with a new smashed avo that keeps us coming back for more. A mountain of smashed avo with poached eggs, a dollop of creamy smoked labna, a sprinkle of Hungarian dukkah, sourdough and a squeeze of lemon to bring it home. It’s not only insanely insta-worthy but tastes like heaven.

Urban Pantry

Simply a crowd pleaser with all the right things- the Urban Avocado. On the iconic Manuka lawns, they’re serving up the freshest avo, poached eggs, oh-so-crumbly feta and torn basil, lemon, rye sourdough and sunflower seeds for a bit of a crunch. Add some Pialligo bacon if you’re feeling the splurge (trust us, it’s worth it).

Chatterbox

The hub known for ‘being so good they can make coffee while they talk,’ their smashed avo deffs deserves some credit. Take in some rays whilst you devour a smashed avo with fresh basil, crumbly Persian fetta and free-range eggs on perfectly charred toast. How good is that.

Teddy Picker’s

Home to some eclectic dishes, sometimes the simple things in life are best. Avo is king served up with hummus, Meredith Feta, a sprinkle of dukkah and lemon on the locally sourced three mills rye toast.

Rye Café

Rye is all about the good things in life- and what’s better than relaxing in the heart of Braddon and devouring an avo and poached eggs. Served with Danish feta and dukkah on a dark rye, broad beans and peas for your veggie intake – It’s super fresh and an absolute charmer.

If you haven’t already started planning a squad brunch I suggest you start messaging around the group chat, because those avos are ripening and ready to fix every (non-financial) problem in life.
