Waltz to Tango – Friday 7 May

Watch (and maybe learn) the beautiful dance techniques of the famous waltz and tango. Celebrating Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla’s ‘nuevo tango’ for its 100th birthday, the concert will bring to life a number of famous songs, also including Elena Kats-Chernin’s The Three Dancers and Andrew Shultz’s She Dances by the River. Artist Walk at The National Botanical Gardens – Saturday 8 May

Take a media ‘walkshop’ around the National Botanical Gardens with Canberra interdisciplinary artist, Dr Tracey Benson. In conjunction with Tracey’s exhibition Talking with Trees at the Visitor Centre Gallery, the walk requires you to bring your smartphone to make an ‘art response’ by taking photos, audio recordings or drawings. Kimchi Workshop – Saturday 8 May

Learn the art of kimchi making with café Two Before Ten’s in-house fermentation experts. From their garden choose your own produce before chopping, mixing and setting the kimchi to ferment.
