In years gone by, Canberrans have lined up to get a glimpse of the fashion elite, mimic their designs and be at the forefront of Canberra’s premiere fashion event. This year FASHFEST aims to immerse locals in the event – deep into the revolutionary fashion, sound, lighting and production – with a bigger and better engaging experience than ever before.

In 2016, FASHFEST will showcase more than 40 designers from Canberra to Mumbai, ensuring you get the full spectrum of trends and styles from all over the globe. With many new and exciting designers to feature, FASHFEST frequents will be glad to see a few familiar labels on the bill, including; Sovata, Karen Lee, Zilpah Tart, Melanie Child, Pure Pod and Red Corner Boxing.

New designers to keep an eye out for include, Naomi Peris Bridal (Canberra), Queen Nyibany Designs (Melbourne), Eder by Anna (Sydney), Kira Pizzingrelli (Central Coast) and Vitamin by Sonalika (Mumbai), as well as curated shows by much-loved local retailers Assemblage Project and Rebel Muse, featuring some of its favourite labels that are sold in store.

Although fashion will take the main stage, the event also celebrates music and film. As we mentioned in previous weeks, FASHFEST is set to host a record number of 25 musicians this year, including an impressive line-up of female talent. Providing a number of live performances and DJ sets, this year’s event will spoil ticket holders with a range of genres including soul, funk, RnB and house.

The event will play host to a number of firsts as well, with Nico Lupo hitting the stage to play his first major Canberra performance, and Mondecreen and Tak-Un-Da introducing their new EPs on the FASHFEST stage.

The experience will unfold over three nights via six distinct shows – two per night (starting at 6:30pm and 8:30pm). To top off each night guests can celebrate at VIP parties, including a massive after-party on the closing night at Lucky’s Speakeasy, QT Canberra.

To ensure that everyone has the chance to be a part of the FASHFEST experience, organisers have included tickets available from just $49 (including GST). So there is no excuse for missing out on Canberra’s number one annual fashion extravaganza!
