The film that has Australian audiences laughing, crying and throwing plastic spoons at cinema screens arrives to Dendy Canberra! Described as ‘the Citizen Kane of bad movies’ and ‘the modern day Rocky Horror,’ the cult phenomenon The Room begins with limited screenings from Friday 20 August 2010.

Written, directed, produced by and starring Tommy Wiseau, The Room is unlike anything you have seen before. Originally billed as ‘a film with the passion of Tennessee Williams’ the story centres on a love-triangle that takes melodrama to new limits.

Adored by comic actors such as David Cross, Paul Rudd and Alec Baldwin, this ‘vanity project gone awry’ (Variety) has developed an unprecedented cult following, selling out sessions across the US & UK, leaving audiences stunned and wondering ‘how can so bad, be so good?’

High on participation, audiences at various screenings around the world, have been known to dress up as their favorite characters, throw plastic spoons at the movie screen (a reference to unexplained framed photos of cutlery often seen in the background), toss footballs to each other from short distances, and joyfully yell insulting comments and criticisms about the quality of the film.

It might be the most unintentionally hilarious film of all time and Dendy Cinemas is bringing the phenomenon to Canberra.

Session times for The Room (M) 9.30pm Friday 20 August & Saturday 21 August 2010 only at Dendy Canberra.

Ticket price includes plastic spoon. Standard Ticket pricing applies.
