Kid’s High Tea

Welcome spring with floral creations and fruity delights at First Editions special school holiday kids high tea. Entertainment includes temporary tattoos and face painting by the Gecko Gang with delicious fruity sensations and floral craft activities. Bookings are essential before 5pm Friday 27th September. Tickets are available to purchase via Eventbrite, 1 adult + 1 child ($49), additional child or adult ($20), & children under 3 (Free) (booking fees apply).

KidzKlub at Floriade

The free activities in the KidzKlub will run throughout the entire 30-days. Sunday 15 September will be getting playfully competitive when the ‘Ultimate Storytelling Battle’ takes place seeing bestselling Australian kids’ authors Mick Elliott and Oliver Phommavanh face off on stage in a hilarious improv event. Pot painting, flower key ring making and more spring themed arts and crafts can also be found in this space.

DreamWorks Animation’s at NMA

From 12 September until 2 February 9am-5pm, iconic characters from DreamWorks Animation’s most celebrated films, including Shrek, Trolls and How to Train Your Dragon, are among the animations featured in a dynamic and interactive new exhibition opening at the National Museum of Australia. $20 adult, $16 conc, $12 child, $50 family, $14 Museum Friend, MKids free.

School Holiday Activity Hub at Marketplace Gungahlin

Get the kids out of the house these School Holidays at our fun and free kids activity hub! Activities are happening every day (except the Labour Day Public Holiday)  featuring mindfulness, sensory and skilled base play. On 28-29 September join Marshall, Chase and Ryder from Nickelodeon’s PAW Patrol at Marketplace Gungahlin for FREE adventure shows and meet & greet sessions.

Story Time: Australian Children’s Literature

An exhibition of much-loved children’s books from the colonial period through to the present day that will appeal to anyone who has experienced the magic of stories. Story Time at the National Library of Australia explores the rich history of Australian children’s literature and takes you on a journey across time and place—real and imagined. Families can also have fun in the dedicated kids section, Playtime.

Oliver!

This school holidays take the family along to something different. Think outside the box and watch as Charles Dicken’s classic story of Oliver Twist comes to life on stage. Fall in love with the strong local cast of talented artists who bring personality and charm to the timeless characters and songs in this production of Lionel Bart’s brilliant musical, Oliver! This outstanding family-friendly event is brought to you by established local theatre company Queanbeyan Players, showing showing from 27 September – Sunday 6 October at The Q Queanbeyan.

Game Masters: The Exhibition

With the opening of Game Masters: The Exhibition on 27 September, the NFSA turns into Australia’s biggest video game arcade with the world’s greatest designers, characters and 80 playable games. The exhibition is open daily 10am–4pm from Friday 27 September 2019 until Monday 9 March 2020. Booking online before your visit is recommended, and allows fast-track entry on busy days.
