In the small town of Bredbo, don’t drive past without pulling into the iconic pie shop. Making pies including flavours with local produce such as trout and rabbit, as well as sausage rolls, pastries and more, fuel up and taste the difference in a homemade pie. Also stocking a range of local gourmet foods, grab yourself delicious goods to create a cheeseboard once you arrive at your destination.

Rhythm Snowsports – Cooma

Whether you’re in the market for new winter gear or not, you have to check out Rhythm Snowsports in Cooma. The biggest snow sports store in Australia, they have the best and latest in ski and snowboard gear and clothing, as well as winter jackets, pants, shoes, accessories and more!

Alpine Abode – Cooma

A cosy boutique in Cooma with a focus on simple, liveable interiors, check out the gorgeous selection of home and kitchenware, beauty, clothing and speciality foods at Alpine Abode. Full of carefully curated treasures from Australian and international brands, their range includes a mix of vintage, modern and rustic pieces that suit a relaxed Australian lifestyle.

Shut the Gate – Berridale

A small wine producer and grape grower in the Snowy Mountains, Shut the Gate are passionate about single-site and best-of-region grape varieties. Spending most of their time in Clare Valley growing varieties like Reisling, Pinot Gris and Shiraz, they are also constantly chasing NSW’s cool climate grapes and selling them through their cellar door in Berridale. Known as the ‘local’ winery, pop into their cellar door and pick up a bottle or two for your travels.

Banjo Paterson Inn – Jindabyne

An iconic mountain institution, the Banjo Paterson Inn in Jindabyne is the beating heart of the region all year round. A must-try destination for travellers new and old, they are home to the famous Kosciuszko Brewery and a range of dining options. So, as you’re passing through Jindabyne, stop by for a delicious pub feed, a cold pint and those picturesque lakeside views.

Wildbrumy Distillery – Crackenback

The perfect winter après drink, don’t drive past Wildbrumby Distillery without stopping for a bottle (or two) of schnapps. Open for lunch, if you’ve got time stop in for a hearty meal, or just head straight for the bottle shop. With delicious flavours like sour apple, raspberry, peach and butterscotch, put your legs up facing the fire and clink to a successful day.
