Long Term Garden Planning in Canberra – Thursday 4 June 4.30pm
A short introductory session on how to make a long-term plan for your garden in Canberra. Now is a great time to invest some time into a long term garden plan. Take a moment with Benjamin Taylor from Good Ground Horticulture as he gives you some starting points for deciding where your garden is going to go.
This is an online course conducted over the videoconferencing platform Zoom. Register via Eventbrite to receive the meeting link. Entry to this workshop is by donation to help cover costs. A suggested $10 per person, but everyone will have access to these workshops, so feel free to pay whatever amount you can. This workshop is part of Sustainability at Home, our series of virtual events and online resources to inspire and inform anyone and everyone about living sustainably at home.
Black Lives Matter Peaceful Protest Friday 5 June 10.30am
A merged protest for Black Lives Matter and Indigenous Australians, organised by Ngunnawal community leaders. This protest is taking place on Friday at 10:30am, starting at Garema place, Civic and then marching to Parliament House. There will be a number of speakers at both locations. Band together to show our solidarity for people of colour across the globe, including Indigenous people in Australia.

Contentious Wine Tasting Party via Zoom is on Friday 5 June, 7:00 – 7:30pm. They deliver a bottle of one of their newly released wines with a paired Tasters Platter. Compered by Sophie Delightful, from Contentious Cabaret, enjoy on your own, or with a group of 2, 4, or more. This weeks wine on show is the Riesling – Crisp In Your Cakehole.
Slow Dial + The Dirty Sunflowers: Live In Ya Lounge – Sunday 7 June
Slow Dial have stuck out the hard yards in the Canberra music scene for several years now. In that time they have built a fan base around their high energy shows and unique indie-psych-rock sound. Bringing together elements of all the members’ unique styles, Slow Dial will capture you with their guitar riffs, shake you around with their soaring vocals, and get you moving with their driving beats.
Live In Ya Lounge will be Slow Dial’s first performance since social isolation and the band have promised to bring their iconic energy and charm to what is sure to be a show to remember.
Sunday Dine & Drink Sesh – Sunday 7 June
Have some fun this Sunday long weekend with delicious eats, fancy craft cocktails and Caribbean rhythms at Highball Express.
Enjoy a menu of charcuterie and cheese, sliders to desserts. Add a glass of wine or cocktails from the drinks menu and celebrate the long weekend. For some extra fun, you can book a cocktail class with your dining experience. You’ll have two hours of hands-on cocktail making before enjoying your dining session.
Sunday will offer 2-hour dining sessions, with a 15-minute break between for staff to clean and sanitise dining areas. Available for groups of 2 – 20 people.

What Do Artists Make: Seeing Canberra – all weekend
Children will explore Seeing Canberra; an exhibition that focuses on the development of the Canberra landscape through the eyes of the artists who have depicted it. In the gallery, children will discover artworks that reflect the growth of the city and how it has changed.
