Kelli Donovan Fashion Design Launch- Saturday 17th November
In a world of fast-fashion, Canberra born designer Kelli Donovan merges innovation and eco-friendly designs to produce her latest collection – Native Pollen. Held in Pollinator Week—Kelli, launches her new designs for Pure Pod and will feature inspirational guest speakers, to discuss the direct relationship between the environment and the clothing supply chain. The event will run from 6-8.30pm at Jindii Eco Spa, Acton and you can get your tickets here.
YES!Fest on Lonsdale Street in Braddon- Saturday 17th November
Almost a year ago we were celebrating the fact that Canberra said YES, and now back at the rainbow round-about in Braddon, YES!Fest is here! The celebration kicks off at 3pm til late promising family-friendly entertainment with dancers and singers, food trucks and bars. The action will then shift to the Hopscotch stage where DJs and live performances will provide a Mardi Gras like atmosphere throughout the evening and well into the night. You can donate to the crowd-funding campaign to pay for the talented performers and the street closure here.
Michael Williams Bowel Cancer Charity Race Day at Thoroughbred Park- Sunday 18th November
Giddy up to Thoroughbred park this weekend for a good cause! The Callaghans Michael Williams Charity Race Day is a charity fundraiser to raise much-needed funds to find a cure for bowel cancer. Entry is free with the gates opening at 10.30am and racing commencing at 1pm. The Winning Post Bar is open to the general public, as well as TAB facilities, ATM, coffee, and Snaffles Snack Bar, and tables are available in the official function. For more details click here.
Summer Sessions at The Lighthouse Pub- Sunday 18th November
Finish the week on a high with a Summer Session by the lake at The Lighthouse Pub in Belconnen. Kick back with your mates with a hearty feed, cold bevvies and some relaxing tunes whilst taking in that Summer breeze. They’ve got live music from 1pm- 4pm and a DJ from 4pm- 8pm.
