Youth Music Competition Grand Finale- Friday 9 November
Lift Off is an annual music competition that offers young singers, songwriters and bands aged 12-25 in the ACT an opportunity to showcase their talent and perform in a professional and supportive environment. After passing two heats, a shortlisted group of up and coming local bands will compete in the grand finale at Woden Town Square from 2-7pm. The Grand Final is a free event open to the public with loads of food and drink stalls and special performances. Come and support Canberra’s talented youth!
The Festive Season Arrives at Canberra Centre- Saturday 10 November
The Christmas spirit arrives in Canberra this weekend, with exciting experiences planned for the whole family at Canberra Centre. For the first time in almost a decade, Santa is returning to Canberra Centre, arriving at his Enchanted Garden, located at the City Walk entrance. From 9am, welcome Santa with a ballet recital of The Nutcracker, as well as a selection of delicious Christmas treats. In addition to Santa’s return, Canberra Centre is planning plenty of other fun for kids of all ages throughout the Christmas period!
Celebrate 8 Weeks until Christmas at Westfield Woden & Belconnen- Saturday 10 November
Christmas is just around the corner and they’re already celebrating at Westfield Woden and Belconnen! Westfield will bring a little Christmas magic to centres across the ACT over the next 8 weeks with weekly festive experiences. This weekend will kick off with Santa’s arrival parade featuring much loved Christmas characters such as Rudolph, Frosty the Snowman, the Christmas Ice Fairy and Mrs Claus, followed by a special singing and dancing performance by the characters. Westfield Belconnen’s parade will kick off at 10am, and Woden’s will kick off at 1pm.
