Free Comic Book Halloween at Impact Comics – Sat 31 October 

It’s a comic bonanza on this weekend at Impact Comics! Between Earth and Sky – Solo Exhibition by Melissa Read-Devine at Humble House Gallery – Sat 31 October 

Spring in Canberra can often be a busy and hectic season. Sometimes a change of pace is exactly what you need. Come down to the first ever exhibition in Canberra by acclaimed Australian artist Melissa Read-Devine, and enjoy the nature’s kaleidoscope of colour at Humble House Gallery. Ride-In Cinema 1: Electric Shadows: The Story of a Cinema + The Cashews at Australia Post, Dickson Post Shop – Sat 31 October 

Canberra has a great cinematic history, and it’s set to continue with a new project centred around carbon-neutral pedal powered film screenings. The screenings are free, but someone has to pedal to keep the sound and picture working! Those that do pedal are obviously heroes, but are also rewarded with popcorn. The Cashews, a local musical duo, will be performing at the event. These screenings are proudly carbon-neutral, and are encouraging you to arrive by walking, cycling or some other sustainable travel. The event runs from 7:30pm. Tickets are very limited, but can be found here. 

Whisky Tasting at Hippo Co – Sat 31 October 

A kaleidoscope of colours and a kaleidoscope of flavours, why not double up? Pique your palette this Saturday evening at Hippo Co, with 6 whiskies to try from around the world. A cheese plate and an hour with Lucy, the in-house specialist is included. If you enjoy dabbling in the complexities of whisky, or just enjoy a great evening with friends, you’ll love this! Waterwatch: Turtles, Bugs and other Creatures on the Deck at Café Stepping Stone – Sun 1 November 

Waterwatch is a great event for the family. This weekend’s edition is focuses on learning about healthy waterways and taking care of our wildlife. Kids will be able to learn actively by catching bugs and watching the creatures in the dam. Come down for a coffee and some morning tea from 9am. It’s a great event for curious minds. Book tickets! 

Music on the Green at Kambri, ANU – Sun 1 November

Oktoberfest Main Event at Harmonie German Club – All Weekend 

Missed out on the regular festivities of Oktoberfest? There will be beer, lederhosen, games, and all kinds of shenanigans on this weekend at the Harmonie German Club. There will be three shows across Friday and Saturday, so there’s plenty of chances to come in and enjoy full cultural experience.
