Capital Brewing Garden Bar Takeover – Friday 4 September

NFSA Live: Virtual Vinyl Lounge – Friday 4 September

The National Film and Sound Archive is taking their Vinyl Lounge online at 5:30pm for you to tune in at home. Head to their website and choose a song from their Vinyl Lounge selection to be heard on the night, record a video in 90 seconds or less telling the team why you want to hear that track and submit it to their Dropbox by September 3rd. Lucy Sugerman at Old Canberra Inn – Saturday 5 September

See the young Canberra sensation Lucy Sugerman at Old Canberra Inn from 2pm on Saturday, for an arvo of good tunes with friends. Performing since she was nine years old, eighteen-year-old Lucy has become a Canberra favourite performing at multiple events in the capital and even on X-Factor! Book your table on their website.

Grazy Daze Platter Workshop – Saturday 5 September

Learn how to make that insta worthy grazing platter with Grazy Daze at 11am-3pm in Braddon. In the workshop you will be provided with a step by step demo of how the team make their platters and you’ll also be provided with a shopping list of all the essentials you will need to make your own platter at home. Of course, throughout the afternoon you will be provided with beautiful cheeses and other snacks to indulge in, and even a goodie bag with local produce to take home! Sewing Group Workshop at ACT Wildlife – Saturday 5 September

Join ACT Wildlife for their monthly sewing workshop to learn or continue on your sewing creations and have a chat! The team ask that you bring your own equipment, but there will be templates patterns available and people to help along the way. Father’s Day at Monster – Sunday 6 September

Take dad out this Father’s Day to the stunning Monster Kitchen and Bar in the Ovolo Nishi building for a beautiful lunch set menu. The restaurant’s menu combines classic French brassie with Japanese rooted flavours to create an innovative approach to dining with bold and delicious food.  Light Painting Workshop – Sunday 6 September

Interesting in photography? Want to broaden your skills and learn something new? 50eight photography is hosting a light painting workshop at Canberra Nara Peace Park at 6-8pm where they will teach you to techniques of the bright art form. With your own camera you will be shown typical camera settings to create varying light sources and once your colourful photos are taken you will also be guided through and editing tutorial on photoshop and how to blend images. Due to social distancing only six are allowed in the class so secure your spot now!

Painting at Boardwalk Bar & Nightclub – Sunday 6 September

Hosting two painting classes this weekend, Boardwalk invites you to join them for a therapeutic two-hour painting session to cultivate your creativity and have a fun night out. Choose between a ‘Snowy Dream’ at 3-5pm or a ‘Blue Cockatoo’ at 6-8pm and get a guided step by step instruction to create your masterpiece from an experienced artist. Women’s and Girl’s Jogalong – Sunday 6 September

Held on the first Sunday of every month, the YMCA hosts a jogalong, encouraging participation and getting active in a fun and social environment. There is a 6km and 3km mixed run (females all ages and boys under 13) and a 1.6km mini-jog (boys and girls under 13). This event is free to YMCA members and a small fee for non-members, but you can resister on the day. For more info, head to their website.
