Monet after Dark – Fri 26

The National Gallery invites you to experience Monet after Dark and the painting that changed the art world forever. Discover the beauty of Monet’s iconic waterlilies, landscapes and the sunrise that inspired the Impressionist movement. Enjoy a complimentary Sunrise inspired cocktail by Archie Rose Distilling Co. on arrival, a live soundtrack of Parisian harmonies and exhibition entry. Then, join The Design Files Editor Lucy Feagins in a special live conversation with Adam Worrall, Assistant Director Exhibitions and Collections and discover the stories and secrets behind this major exhibition. Ostani Reopening Party – Fri 26

Canberra’s original Happy Hour welcomes you back! Ostani Bar will be celebrating the reopening of the newly renovated Ostani. Enjoy cocktail tastings, roaming canapés, competitions on the night, pop up bars, happy hour and live music from 4:30pm. This is a free event.

RSPCA Cupcake Day – Sat 27

Spend the day with family and friends at South.Point Tuggeranong and help launch The RSPCA Cupcake Day 2019! There will be face painting, a jumping castle, arts & crafts, and of course delicious batches of designer cupcakes. If that’s not impressive enough, the team from Scrumdiddlyumptious Sweet Treats will be raffling off a GIGANTIC 15inch cupcake on the day! According to the RSPCA, it costs $25 per day per animal to provide basic care at the shelter. This care includes providing an animal with a warm and safe place to sleep, bedding, socialisation and enrichment to keep them healthy before they find their forever homes. At any one time the organisation can have over 400 animals in care so every donation counts. Find the event at Centre Court from 11am – 2pm.

Canberra Ultimate Women’s Weekend Women’s Expo 2019 – Sat 27 – Sun 28

Santa Shuffle for Cystic Fibrosis – Sun 28

Cystic Fibrosis is the most common life shortening genetic condition in Australia with one child born with CF every four days. The Social Activities Club is hosting the annual Santa Speedo Shuffle to raise awareness for Canberrans and their families living with CF. The run will kick off at Southern Cross Yacht Club at 10am. National Tree Day Planting – Sun 28

Join the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council for National Tree Day as they plant approximately 300 trees to re-vegetate the walking trail at Hill Lane, Queanbeyan East. A free BBQ lunch will be provided for all volunteers. The event will run from 9.30am – 11.30am.
