Canberra’s Winter festival brings the beauty of a European Winter Fair to the heart of Canberra – just outside the Arts Centre on London Circuit. Glide on the huge outdoor ice rink and soak up the crisp Winter daylight in your cozy scarf and mittens or be dazzled by the brilliant light show overhead at night. 777 Marathon Canberra – Sat 6 July

Join Bravehearts’ 777 Marathon when it lands in Canberra. Registration are now open for individuals or teams to run or walk the 7km, 14km, 21km, or 42km distances. It’s $50 entry which includes a marathon medal and singlet for each participant. Funds raised through 777 support Bravehearts’ mission of preventing child sexual assault. Register here. 

Free minions dance party at Gungahlin Marketplace – Sat 6 – Sun 7 July

Come and dance along with your favourite stars from Despicable Me at Marketplace Gungahlin! It’s your chance to meet and greet the lovable Gru, Dave and Mel as they will all be at Marketplace Gungahlin for active meet and greet sessions and to dance with everyone who comes along! Watch your favourite Minions have a dance party on stage (and maybe learn some moves) then grab some family photos with the adorable but cheeky stars during an active character meet and greet! Meet them directly outside Big W from: 10am- 10:30am, 11am – 11:30am, 12pm– 12:30pm. This event is free so bring the family along.

Monet: Impression Sunrise at National Gallery of Australia– Sat 6 – Sun 7 July

The National Gallery of Australia is hosting an exhibition from the impressionist master, Claude Monet, features world-famous paintings from the Musée Marmottan Monet, Paris including the 1872 work Impression, sunrise, which was the origin for the term ‘Impressionism’. In a major coup for Australian audiences, it’s the first time this painting has been seen in the Southern Hemisphere. The exhibition also includes key paintings by JMW Turner, whose early works inspired Monet, along with other impressionist artists influenced by one of the greatest painters and founders of Impressionism. Open from 10am – 5pm.

Bottomless Brunch at The Duxton – Sun 7 July

Queanbeyan Christmas in July Party – Sun 7 July

Queanbeyan Christmas in July is back with all the delights of a mid-year Christmas gathering. Enjoy over 150 unique market stalls, belly-filling foods and a whole lot of community love. Everyone is welcome to a winter dream in Queanbeyan Showground from 10-4pm. The day includes Christmas-inspired food, gourmet treats, beer and wine, handmade Christmas gifts, an artificial snow area, an art exhibition, a play area for your elves, outdoor obstacle course and games.
