Spiegeltent Arrives in Canberra- Saturday 30 March
Roll up Canberra, the greatest party is BACK! The Spiegeltent is returning to breathe life into Canberra … or better yet; LIFE The Show. The rest of the pop-up festival line-up is known for presenting a series of world-class music, comedy, and dancing acts over a thrilling couple of weeks. Catch The Spiegeltent while you can from 30 March to 21 April at the Canberra Theatre Centre’s forecourt. You can count on the tent’s line-up to bring lively entertainment and jaw-dropping acts to your night out. Canberra District’s Wine Week Launch Event- Saturday 30 March
Celebrate the launch of Canberra District’s Wine Week with more than 50 wines on offer at our annual Wine Tasting event hosted in the beautiful courtyard at New Acton. From 2pm to 6pm, collect your Canberra Wines ‘Tasting Glass’ and embark on a taste of our ‘liquid geography’. If you think you know about Canberra Wines, then think again, as this year’s Festival theme will have you thinking – ‘Expect the Unexpected.’ Food will also be available to purchase, so grab your friends and make an afternoon of it. Armstrong Siddeley Vintage Car Display at Old Parliament House- Saturday 30 March
Members of the Armstrong Siddeley Car Club of Australia, as a part of their centenary celebrations of the marque, invite you to Old Parliament House to view a collection of vintage cars of ‘Aircraft Quality’. Armstrong Siddeleys were extensively used in the 1950s to the mid 1960s by the Federal Government. Queen Elizabeth was chauffeured in an Armstrong Siddeley during her 1954 visit to Australia, and even Sir Charles Kingsford Smith owned a number of Armstrong Siddeleys. The event will run 10am-3pm. Growing Friends Autumn Plant Sale- Saturday 30 March
Come along to the Australian National Botanic Gardens for a boutique sale with plants grown by the gardens’ Growing Friends from material sourced in the gardens. All proceeds go to support the Gardens. The gates open from 8.30am – 11am, make sure to come early for the best selection! Autumn is considered to be an excellent time for planting, allowing plants to settle in to their new environment after the summer heat and before the winter cold so get growing!
Brodburger’s 10th Birthday Party- Saturday 30 March
Happy birthday to Brodburger! To celebrate 10 years of Brod they are saying a big fat thank you to Canberra for all of your support, they’re throwing one big birthday bash the best way we know how – with burgers! On Saturday 30th March 5:30 to 8:30pm they’ll be giving away FREE BURGERS at Brod Kingston! There’ll also be live music and entertainment from local bands, DJs and performers, plenty of Brod merchandise, lawn games, competitions and so much more. The Canberra glassworks will also be open with live glass blowing of a Brodburger, created by glass artist Annette Blair.
Matt Corby comes to Canberra!- Saturday 30 March
Matt Corby is coming to Canberra and it’s kind of a big deal! Matt and the band will be touring Australia & New Zealand this March/April and will be making a stop by Canberra to play a show at the UC Refectory. For tickets, visit their website.
2019 Canberra MS Walk + Fun Run- Sunday 31 March
The Canberra MS Walk + Fun Run sets off from 8am – 4pm on Rond Terrace and takes a scenic route around the beautiful Lake Burley Griffin past the iconic sites of Canberra. Stay hydrated at our water stops and watch out for roving entertainers along the way. Then it’s back to Rond Terrace to replenish and relax with food, music and entertainment for the whole family.
