Floriade – all weekend

Marilyn Monroe and Michael Jackson are set to star alongside the likes of Grug and Where’s Wally as this year’s Floriadetakes visitors on a trip down memory lane through the theme of Pop Culture. Featuring a jam-packed program drawing inspiration from this year’s theme, festival-goers will be treated to an exciting array of retro-inspired flowerbeds showcasing some of the 20th Century’s most iconic figures in music, film, literature and social media.

Cézanne – Portraits of a Lifeall weekend 

Australian premiere of Cézanne – Portraits of a Life. This visually beautiful documentary film explores the life and art of hugely influential French painter Paul Cézanne. Based on the lauded exhibition of Cézanne portraits currently on view at the National Portrait Gallery, London, the film features interviews with curators, art experts and his great-grandson Philippe Cézanne. Including correspondence from the artist, it successfully sheds new light on the life and work of this hugely influential artist. Opening nationally in cinemas on 20 September.

Gin Degustation at Chifley’s Bar & Grill – Saturday 

Chifley’s Bar & Grill again joins forces with The Canberra Distillery to put together a five-course gin degustation. Starting the evening with canapés on arrival followed by courses including gin and juniper pork belly and gin cured kingfish; all perfectly matched with locally made gin and Tim Reardon from The Canberra Distillery will be talking you through each match. Walk 4 Hope – Sunday 

Walk 4 Hope is an annual event designed to raise funds and awareness for Huntington’s disease. This year the Canberra walk will be held at Weston Park, Yarralumla. The EJ EH Club Act will be partner with Huntington’s NSW ACT. Register on line it will be a fun day and we want everyone to have a fun day. Sunday at 11 AM – 2 PM.

Canberra Times Fun Run – Sunday 

Thousands of individuals, families and groups of friends are set to come together from across the ACT and surrounds, to take part in the 1km, 5km or 10km events, taking in some of the city’s most iconic landmarks including the Parliamentary Triangle and Lake Burley Griffin starting 7am.

High Tea Screening at Dendy – Sunday
