National Multicultural Festival – Fri 15th – Sun 17th Feb

It’s that time of the year where the world is at our doorstep! Celebrate the differences, share traditions and see performances from all parts of the globe. There will be live music, dancing, performance art, overwhelming food stalls, street parties and more local, national and international artists. This year Christine Anu and Isaiah Firebrace are taking the stage, and celebrity chef Mark Olive will be cooking up a storm live! The festival takes over Canberra’s CBD with stalls stretching around London Circuit, Garema Place, City Walk and Bunda Street.

Acoustic Friday’s at Chifley’s Bar & Grill – Friday 15th Feb

Acoustic Fridays are the perfect opportunity to relax and unwind after a long working week. Join at Hotel Kurrajong Canberra’s courtyard and enjoy live music by local Canberran talent, vibrant chef cooking stations serving unique cuisine and their very own pop-up bar featuring refreshing beverages. Acoustic Friday’s run from 4.30pm – 8pm and entry is free!

Love & Desire Valentines Dinner and Concert – Friday 15th Feb

A night of feasting under the moon at the National Gallery of Australia including live performance, music, poetry and romance. Internationally acclaimed singer and host, Mikelangelo will be joined by Anushka. Local sound artist Happy Axe will create sonic dreamscapes and Santa Fe based singer/songwriters Wendy Rule, will be joined by her band to showcase their Persephone songbook. Tickets include drink on arrival, exhibition entry and a luxurious dinner in Gandel Hall. Northside Family Markets at Thoroughbred Park – Saturday 16th Feb

The Northside Family Markets are held every Saturday at the one and only Thoroughbred Park from 10am to 4pm. Support local farmers and food vendors who will set up artisan, food stalls and farmers markets.

The 117th Gunning Show – Sunday 17th Feb

The Gunning Show is back for another year! As a committee, they work hard to add new and exciting exhibits to our show lineup along with all the old favourites and this year is no different. There will be stalls set up comprising local beers, cookery, flowers, home crafts, farm produce, jams, vegetables, wool, competitions and more! Gates open 6.30am. See the website for more details. 

What Makes a Tree Significant Walk – Sunday 17th Feb

Take the family this weekend for a guided walk around the National Arboretum! Take a stroll down Central Valley while your guide talks about the trees planted by dignitaries and celebrities. Find out about why they were chosen, their rarity, their uses and their symbolic value. A moderate level of fitness is required as well as sturdy and covered footwear. Ages 12+ only. This is a free event!
