The Superjesus Sumo 20th Anniversary Tour – Friday 12 October

After a 10-year hiatus, the wait is finally over for fans of The Superjesus! The 3x ARIA award winners will be heading to MOLO LIVE at ANU to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of their iconic album SUMO. Along with plenty of their old bangers, they’ll be adding a new banger that’s a cover of Kylie Minogue’s Confide In Me. To rock out all night long, purchase your tickets here.

Finnish Crazy Games – Saturday 13 October

Dust off the ol’ air guitar, it’s time to get around the Embassy of Finland to Australia for the return of the Finnish Crazy Games! The day is filled with crazy Finnish ways such as Wife Carrying, Hobby horse and the fan favourite Air Guitar competition. Our fundraising partner Canteen will be cooking up a sausage sizzle in support of their mission to help youngsters whose lives are impacted by cancer. The day will run from 10am to 6pm and you can find out more about it here.

Candle making with Cocolux – Saturday 13 October

Cocolux’s creator Meisha Strykowski will host a candle making workshop, exploring her aesthetic behind candle making, natural ingredients and handmade quality. Enjoy some bubbly and an indulgent grazing platter from Woodbrook Canberra on arrival before you start creating. Canberra Reggae Festival at Old Canberra Inn – Saturday 13 October

Old Canberra Inn is once again bringing back the sounds of Jamaica! Get ready to feel the beat with Sydney ARIA nominated reggae band KING TIDE and soul roots reggae band KINSKY. With delicious Jamaican food, awesome craft beer, jumping castles and face painting; the Canberra Reggae Festival is fun for the whole family! This free event starts at 1pm, so make sure you don’t miss out on all the infectious rhythms of the festival.

Chakra Crystal Healing Experience – Saturday 13 October

If you’ve been feeling a little out of whack lately, this one’s for you. Innerji Yoga Studio in Queanbeyan are hosting a 1.5hr crystal experience to take your mind, body and soul on an inner journey. Cleanse and charge Chakra Healing Crystals as well as re-balancing your own chakras within their candle-lit warm and nurturing studio. The session begins at 2pm and you can buy your tickets here.

Dating with dogs – Sunday 14 October

What brings people together more than the love of dogs? The Social Dog Company and The Old Canberra Inn are hosting a fun and flirty fundraising event for all dog loving singles. The event is BYOD (bring your own dog) but don’t fear if you don’t have a furry friend, you can still show up and enjoy all the love these babies have to offer. Tickets can be purchased here.

Spring into Acro – Sunday 14 October

Ever been so full of glee that you wanted to burst out with a cartwheel but you didn’t know how to? Well, cross that fear off your list with the acro workshop hosted by Aerial Sports in Mitchell. Whether you’re a beginner or a little more advanced, there’s something for everybody. Learn to tumble, pose and move along safely under the guidance of experienced teachers James, Nina and Zoe. Classes are $45 and pre-registration is essential as spots are limited, so book your place in the workshop here.

Superhero’s dogs day out – Sunday 14 October

Floriade will once again welcome dogs, big and small, to Commonwealth Park to enjoy an abundant array of beautiful bright coloured spring bulbs in the company of thousands of dogs! Sit back and relax at the Pooch Café, dress up and join in on the Superhero Best Dressed competition, grab a photo at the Superhero Photobooth and watch in awe at the many talented dog performances.
