It certainly feels cold enough to be a European winter in Canberra this year, so why not enjoy the feel of a white Christmas (in July). The Christmas in July Festival is bringing the magical feel of the festive season to Canberra from 30 June to 3 July with all the best parts of Christmas. From the best comfort food and wine from around Europe, fire pits, a mulled wine garden, private igloos, authentic wood huts and a snow lane, get in the spirit this July.

With many private experiences that the whole family will enjoy and a huge range of food and goodies to explore, here are our top tips on what to do at this year’s festival.

Try the famous gooey raclette cheese

It’s a French winter tradition to melt raclette cheese and lather it over potatoes, ham, salami and pickles, and we think that’s a tradition worth bringing to Canberra. Try this truly heavenly delight as you taste your way through the food stalls, or go all out and book a private igloo experience with your own raclette spread and grill.

Enjoy mulled wine for mum & dad and roasted marshmallows by the fire for the kids

Spice up your Christmas in July experience with a glass (or more) of warming mulled wine. A must-have during Christmas time, enjoy it in the dedicated wine garden or go all out and book a private table with access to the VIP Bar, table service and blankets and heaters. If you’re visiting with kids, the fire pit experience with giant marshmallow skewers for the kids and mulled wine for the parents it’s the ultimate package.
