Promising to deliver diners a unique experience that has been lacking in the city for some time, Luna is the hottest new addition to Canberra’s dining scene.

Situated inside the historic Sydney Building, Luna features an elevated street food menu, combining Asian and Australian cuisine, with a heavy focus on cocktails.

“Luna is an all-encompassing experience. You can enjoy after-work drinks, indulge in our share-style dining menu, and kick on with a cocktail,” says Venue Manager, Nick Muir.

“We have a considered and exciting cocktail menu, featuring creative takes on some of the favourites. It’s a great way for people to start or end their night here, or both, with one of our signature cocktails in hand,” he says.

In charge of the food menu is Head Chef Adrianne ‘Adi’ De Jesus Davo. Inspired by her Southeast Asian heritage and vast training under multiple Michelin Star chefs, the menu merges street food and complex umami flavours with a modern Australian flair.

“I travelled the world to work with many grandmothers from different cultures who taught me their best-kept secrets and how to make everything from scratch. In many ways, this was the most vital training I could have undertaken and has made my take on this menu very approachable, and for everyone,” says Adi.

“My focus is on ethical and sustainable cooking. Everything on the menu is seasonal and made from scratch, utilising as much of a piece of produce as possible to ensure there is minimal waste from the kitchen.”

Stand-out dishes include the prawn and crab roll featuring pan de leche, spanner crab, tiger prawns and kewpie, the duck tacos with cherries and goat cheese, as well as the Riz au-lait rice pudding.

Designed by award-winning Capezio Copeland, the venue’s fit-out pays homage to the building’s heritage and stays true to its position in an iconic part of Canberra.

“It’s refined and refreshingly different, making it the perfect backdrop for anyone to dine, sip and play,” says Muir.

Inside you will find rounded edges and arched windows, reflective of the building’s renowned archways, alongside luxe brass features, terrazzo, booth seating against exposed original brick and timber panelled walls.
