We are always on the move with hospitality restrictions. The latest call is that venues can reopen for limited patrons as of Saturday 16 May. Diners are capped at 10 people and must abide by social distancing rules.

In another move of resilience restaurants are already thinking of ways to make a restrictive situation work and bring the community back into our local venues.

Sage Dining Room

Sage was one of our beloved local venues who opted to close during lockdown. The team have bounced back with huge plans for the first weekend of limited trade. They are offering an exclusive dinner of a lifetime for a table of 10.  The upmarket banquet leaves no tastes to the imagination. The team have spent their time closed tweaking the bespoke menu to include the best of the best. At $250 a head expect a lavish evening with a Champagne Coup to mark their elaborate return.

Otis Dining Hall

From Thursday 28 May Thursdays to Sunday’s head to the Otis Chef’s Table. The dining room will be laid out in accordance to 1.5m distancing requirements and two seating of 10 diners are available per night. The special ticketed event will be less about the guests you choose to dine with and all about the collaboration. Otis will be partnering with Clonakilla wines and The Truffle Farm to kick off Canberra’s truffle crazy season. The Otis team will put on a seven-course feast paired with award-winning Clonakilla wines. a Chef’s Table seat will cost $180 including wine.

Monster Kitchen & Bar

Monster’s Restaurant in Room will no longer be limited to one-on-one dining. While the Monster dining room will remain closed, guests can book an 8 or 10 seater dining experience with their closest friends or family in an Ovolo Hotel room. It will feel kind of like hosting your own dinner party except everything is done for you! Wouldn’t it be nice to be waited on again and not have to do the washing up! R in R offers a private dining sanctuary where guests have the choice of a 3 or 5 course set menu. Prices range from $229 to $349.

Walt & Burley

If you’re taking a walk on the Kingston Foreshore this weekend there will be one venue open! Walt & Burley is taking walk-ins, a first in best dressed policy applies when there is a limit of 10 diners! Throughout the day the team hope to cater to as many locals as possible. For an exclusive chefs table experience be sure to prebook and Waltz will cater to your intimate dinner party needs.

Capital Brewing Co

It’s not often you go down to the Dairy Road precinct and the Capital Taproom isn’t pouring out with visitors. The pub are offering the ultimate experience of the entire taproom to yourself with 9 mates! The George Harcourt Inn

Once in a lifetime opportunity to have a banquet hosted at The George Harcourt Inn. Holding exclusive Christmas style banquet feast for lunch and dinner 10 people only. Raku is reopen for dinner 7 nights, from Tuesday the 19th, for small groups with only a set menu available (no a la carte). Bookings are essential. Bookings times available are strictly set to 5:30pm, 6:00pm, 8:00pm and 8:30pm, with a strict 2 hour sitting time.
