Live Music Experience at Mercure

There’s no need for lockdown blues anymore Canberra, as Mercure is now offering a new unique live music experience that will give music lovers the best seat in the house. On Friday 29 October, join Mercure in their beautiful Courtyard Gardens as they come alive with a VIP Blues Night featuring renowned five-piece Canberra blues band. Set up on your own private VIP hotel balcony, the experience package not only includes tickets and an antipasto platter for two with your choice of beer or wine, but also one nights’ accommodation to make it a night to remember. However, if you don’t wish to stay overnight there will be a small number of picnic sites available on the lawns for a picnic of up to 5 guests. Mercure’s restaurant Olims Bar & Bistro and bottle shop will also be open where food and drinks will be available to purchase.

Japanese Film Festival  

Palace Cinemas will be hosting the 25^th annual Japanese Film Festival in Canberra during 29 October to 2 November. This year the program tells the stories of those who dare to dream beyond limitations. Featuring the latest box office hits alongside rare 35mm and 16mm screenings of avant-garde auteur Shūji Terayama’s works, this year will host a truly diverse mix.

Digital Collage Workshop with Simon Ward

On 20 November, the NGA’s Art Lab is hosting a fun 1.5-hour digital workshop led by contemporary artist and creator of the game Terminus Simon Ward will take you on a ride through the building blocks of virtual reality to create your own CG animation collage and a whole new world of your own!
