Fancy a cheese and wine break between the bridge-to-bridge walk? Margot Bar, a new and very cute Parisian-feeling open-air bar has just opened along the water of Lake Burley Griffin.

The new kiosk serves high-quality espresso and baked goods for those morning walkers, followed by a carefully selected list of French, Canberra region and regional NSW wines perfectly paired with premium cheeses in the afternoon.

Inspired by the famous Parisian sidewalk café culture, Margot presents a new and exciting experience to Canberra – the perfect place to unwind and watch the world go by with a glass of wine in hand.

The brainchild of the creators of two iconic Canberra businesses, James Souter of The Boat House and Nick Tyrrell of GoBoat, the team are excited to bring a little bit of Europe to the Capital.

“It really is a privilege to have the opportunity to bring this vision to life in such an iconic location. It’s fantastic to be able to create new and interesting ways for locals to enjoy their city, but also showcase it to the increasing number of visitors to Canberra,” says Nick.

“I think Canberrans will embrace this mix of the best wines from our region as well as some fantastic French drops in a relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere,” says James.

Margot Bar is open from 6:30am on weekdays and 7am on weekends for coffee and light bites. Wine, cheese and a variety of small snacks are available from midday until sunset Wednesday to Sunday.
