Happy International Burger Day (Thursday 28 May). One of the only good things to come out of Covid was more burgers. Even those venues who usually wouldn’t sell them starting slinging patties as an excellent takeaway option. Here’s where to get your burger fix!

Fares Bueller

The Fried Tawook burger isn’t your regular chicken burger. Think exotic Lebanese spiced chicken, bright pickled turnips and of course garlic aioli. The Kafta Cheeseburger will also turn heads; all the usual cheese burger staples like jack cheese, onion and pickles only this one has a spicy sauce over the carefully crafted wagyu kafta patty.

Young & Frisky

Returning back to the hospo world after Covid shut downs on Thursday 28 may (International Burger Day) celebrate two great things at once. You know a place that is famous for their fried chicken and whisky is going to hit the spot. The gastro pub in Gungahlin has a casual and energetic dining vibe with American-style burgers just the way we like it. Tuck into a succulent chicken, beef burger or steak sandwich, or a favourite for vegetarians is the southern fried tofu burger. The burgers are all served on a white butter bun or Turkish bread and are served with chippies coated with the flavourful Frisky shake.

GM has been slinging burgers from their truck in Woden and their new venue in Gungahlin! Hot tip: always order a side of greasy sauce to drown your chippies.
