Sourdog Provisions

From the minds behind one of Verity Lane’s very first pop-ups Project Enoki comes an exciting neighbourhood deli, bakery and providore. Opening at the Nicholls shops, Sourdog Provisions features a rotating menu of fresh baked goods, cakes, pastries and pies made in-house daily. Through seasonality forward deli specialities, hot sandwiches, cold salads and artisanal provisions, pop on past for a catch-up lunch or delicious takeaway.

No.9 Palace

Focusing on creating delicious Chinese food that promises to wow you with the presentation as well as the flavour, No.9 Palace is Dickson’s newest restaurant. Describing their food as ‘art Chinese fusion’, each dish is beautifully presented, reflecting traditional Chinese symbols and customs. From goldfish shaped dumplings to skewers served on a steaming boat, you won’t find a dining experience like this anywhere else in Canberra.

Short Eats

Finding a bigger, more permanent home, popular Canberra food truck Short Eats has opened a café. Serving delicious Sri Lankan food for breakfast and lunch, enjoy traditional dishes, as well as Sir Lankan inspired western classics. Think eggs benedict with a curry hollandaise and their take on steak and eggs with slow-cooked lamb, capsicum and a fried egg.

From a hobby to an online store and now a bakery, Sugar Plum Fairy Cakes has been baking and decorating your special occasion cakes and cookies since 2016. Now opening a store in Hall, it’s worth the drive to have a lovely afternoon tea with some naughty sugary goodies that have been made with love.

The newest venue to come out of the Doma Group, Leyla Bar is set to open in June. Perched on the rooftop of the Burbury Hotel in Barton, Leyla will bring an exclusive club lounge experience to Canberra with an outdoor oasis feel.
