Honey Boy is the dramatised retelling of Shia LaBeouf’s childhood as a child actor (Fury, Nymphomaniac, the Transformers series). We see LaBeouf take on the cathartic role as the dead-beat father of Otis (played in dual roles by Noah Jupe and Lucas Hedges, respectively) and the tumultuous life of a child celebrity. Acclaimed Israeli-American director Alma Har’el (Sigur Ros’ 2012 music video Fjögur píanó) works to LaBeouf’s strengths as one of the defining character actors of the 21st century.
