On race day there is always the chance of things getting a little rowdy, but on Student Race Day it’s guaranteed. It’s the event of the season, and possibly the best chance to let your hair down before exams hit. This year’s Student Race Day will be held in conjunction with the $40,000 TAB Federal Tony Campbell Memorial Cup on Friday 5 October.

Expect free admissions at the gate and live DJ’s on the field.

Student Race Day offers entertaining ways to have a punt including the opportunity to win big for your resi in the University Residence Mascot race. The spectacle will see Mascots from all over Canberra taking part in a 100m sprint to the finish competing for a cash pool, and the winner will receive $1000 to the residence social club plus $1000 to their chosen charity.

Additionally, students can also be a part of the “Buy me a Pony” sweepstakes to win a $100 bet on a horse running on the day in the TAB Federal Tony Campbell Memorial Cup.

If you just attend for the chance to dress up, don’t forget to register at the main stage between 12.30-2pm for Rodger Bartholomew Fashions on the field competition, to be held at 3pm.

Get a killer Insta-upload with the $200,000 Melbourne Cup trophy, you can hold the trophy and have your photo taken with the iconic Cup on the track as part of the worldwide tour before the big race that stops the nation.
