What some may not know is that a few local cafes and restaurants in Canberra who are providing the spaces and opportunities for these artists, as well as a place for art lovers to look upon interesting pieces of work.

The Front

Budding artist or art lover? Explore one of Canberra’s greatest little secrets, The Front cafe in Lyneham is dishing up not only excellent coffees, but both local and interstate displays of creative works hanging around their bohemian styled venue. The team aim to assist in the growth of young, emerging artists by providing a warm and supportive space for exhibition. For lovers of art the their gallery has a large selection of artists from all different practise and styles for you to check out. If you know any baristas the cafe is even hosting a latte art competition.

Močan & Green Grout

You might not find a work of art hanging from the wall but what you’ll find in this trendy NewActon cafe, Močan & Green Grout is that the art is everywhere. From their beautifully presented dishes on their handmade ceramics and there all handmade tableware made by a local artist. To their often changing interior arrangements this is one unique space you won’t want to miss.

QT

Each month, QT Canberra opens up their space for a new local talent, giving them the chance to showcase their work. As guests walk through the lobby and lounge area they can explore the creative works bringing unique style to the hotel. Then as they continue to Capitol Bar & Grill they can enjoy a meal amongst even more mesmerising art, providing the perfect atmosphere.

Little Oink

Find everything pink at the Little Oink cafe at Cook shops, including pigs! With a giant pig out the front and more little pigs on the walls and in every corner, this cafe is the definition of quirky. However, with their children’s space equipped with a chalkboard for creative drawing and their bright colours, it has lovely homely feeling. As well as encouraging artistic vision in children they also have a few pieces of work hanging from the walls with some available for purchase, making it the perfect spot for mums and bubs!

Gang Gang

Gang Gang cafe in Dickson uses art, culture and delicious food and coffee to bring together a thriving community. Take the family and feel right at home with their relaxed space with comfy couches, but most importantly their ever changing art displays from local artists. It is fair to say the team at Gang Gang have a passion for art as they open their space to any applicants wanting to showcase their work. You could spend hours drinking one coffee after another and staring at unique pieces of art at this local cafe.
