BentSpoke and Capital call for local support. In true Canberra fashion, both breweries launched their political campaigns in a bid to win a spot in the GABS hottest 100. Breweries across Australia have entered thousands of beers in Australia’s biggest people’s choice celebration of craft beer, the GABS Hottest 100.

Last year 12% of all beer placings came from within the ACT which is an amazing testament to the Canberra community rallying together to support local businesses. Capital and BentSpoke both had 6 beers each in the 100 finalists. BentSpoke had the 3rd most votes, and Capital the 8th most vote out of any brewery in the land.

“Being a Canberra brewer, we’ve always been close to the political action. We are excited to launch our very own campaign in the Brew Capital of Australia, and with Canberra’s support we’re confident we’ll place in the GABS 100. Vote one Crankshaft!” says Richard Watkins, BentSpoke Co-founder and Head Brewer.

“It’s the good people of Canberra that have supported us from day one, helping grow a local success story and local jobs. A top placing in the poll can make a huge difference to the ongoing success of the company, so we’re thankful for everyone who gets behind their local brewery!” says Laurence Kain, Capital Brewing Co.

Voting closes midnight Friday 15 January 2021.
