For the 10th year in a row, Mooseheads is transforming the club once again for Canberra’s biggest Halloween night Saturday 27 October, kicking off at 9pm.

As far as social calendar events go, this one is one you can rely on every year. There is nothing more disappointing than an event that doesn’t fully embrace the theme and that’s exactly what Mooseheads have mastered – especially with their Halloween party.

This year, they may have even gone a little over board to celebrate a Decade of Death. The team are having renovations done before the spooky day to ensure there are more dance podiums than ever before. Be cautious when you’re dropping it low, you never know what will be lurking in the dark. Extra staff have been hired just to spook your socks off.

DSM will be more traditional Halloween style, think pumpkins and trick or treat, but as you make your way up to the top floor, death, destruction and blood start to become a common theme. Brace yourselves for special effects and frights all night long.

“Every year we try to improve on the year before, and while it gets harder we do it convincingly,” Events Manager, Ryan Dyson says. “People love to dress up and have a good time, it has become a tradition for us.”

Unlike the scene on the Mean Girls where Lindsay Lohan is caught off guard at the high school Halloween party for opting to dress as spooky bride instead of the crowd-pleasing sexy bunny, this party rewards scary.

Smirnoff is teaming up with Mooseheads to award a massive prize for best dressed. Everyone is welcome whether you are dressed up or not but it’s more fun to get involved, that’s why Smirnoff are giving away a first-place best-dressed prize of $1000 Student Flight voucher and two runners up will receive a $500 voucher each!

Embrace happy hour from 10 – 12pm with $3 basic spirits and tap beer. Smirnoff Double Blacks will be running from 10pm-Midnight for just $5 – make sure you can handle your scare (and your vodka).
