Drink:

Suke Suke (pictured)

112 Alinga Street, Canberra

So good you have to say it twice. Hidden in the back alleys of Civic is where you’ll find this underground gem. For some of the funkiest music in town and specialty cocktails to tickle your taste buds, Suke Suke is a great place to try. Japanese motifs decorate the walls encapsulating you in the atmosphere of the bar from the moment you head down the stairs. Each week Suke Suke changes its cocktail of the week so if you’re someone who loves exploring new things, take a trip down to one of the coolest bars in the Berra.

Shop:

That Little Shop

Shop 3 Kingston Plaza, Jardine Street, Kingston

‘Where did you get that outfit?’ someone will be compelled to ask when they see the clothes you picked up in Kingston. The best part? Most of the time it continues to be a secret when you answer with ‘Oh you know, That Little Shop!’. Boutique fashion items can be found to pair with the jewellery and collection of knick-knacks available in store. For the eclectic collector in all of us, you don’t want to miss checking out this cute hotspot.

Eat:

G Spot

Gungahlin Drive, Ngunnawal

If you’re ever in need for some food that really hits the spot, look no further than this iconic solo food van located in Gungahlin. If you love getting absolutely fried, chow down on a deep-fried Mars Bar from its sweets menu, or get your hands on one of the Lost Dogs if you’re really having a Bridget Jones day. Open from Wednesday to Saturday, this is a trip that is oh-so worth it, but make sure you rock up when they’re open! With so many good food options available all over Canberra sometimes it feels good to be a little naughty, and in those times hit the G Spot.

Play:

Gibraltar Falls

Corin Road, Namadgi National Park

Adventure is out there! And you don’t have to travel nearly as far as you think. If you love being out in nature and want a way to cool off in this heat, head out to Gibraltar Falls. Tucked away in Namadgi National Park is a natural waterfall and pool with one of the most amazing views Canberra has to offer. A picnic area, BBQ and amenities are also available near the car park so if you’re looking for an awesome place to bring family or friends, make a day of your visit out to the falls.

LoBrow Gallery

Level 2, 181 City Walk, Canberra

Celebrate Canberra’s underground music scene, by going above ground. From the creator of Sancho’s Dirty Laundry comes this funky art gallery in the city. LoBrow is an industrial gallery primed to display artwork and showcase Canberra’s best hip-hop and alternative music artists. Working in correlation with Beach Burrito, who is located just downstairs, LoBrow serves fresh cocktails and craft beers to its patrons. Here, Canberra artists are harboured in support of local talent, as well as some amazing names from across Australia. So for a twist on ‘normal’ white-walled art galleries, discover a gallery that embraces the alternative culture throughout Canberra.
