Spring has sprung, Floriade installations are dotting the city and The Bavarian restaurants at Woden and Belconnen are embracing the seasonal shift. Soak up Bavarian springtime vibes with The Bavarian Spring Fest, a two-hour food, beer, cider and cocktail package for $69 per person.

The generous food and bottomless drinks menu is filled classic German dishes built upon sturdy, reliable ingredients and will leave you feeing truly satisfied. It’s the kind of delicious food that lubricates conversation, rather than trying to be the focus of it.

For starters, we enjoyed warm, salted looped pretzels fresh from the oven. Mains included golden-crumbed chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce and fries plus a beautifully light side salad of roasted pumpkin, beetroot and creamy goat’s cheese.

To finish, we were served an exquisite traditional apple strudel with that lovely cinnamon taste you’d expect, accompanied by walnuts, raisins and house-made vanilla ice cream.

Their range of newly launched, on tap cocktails were light and wonderfully refreshing. Out of Strawberry Margarita, Lychee Paradise, Apple-Tini, and Elderflower Garden, the Lychee Paradise was a clear favourite and perfect for springtime.

The generous banquet-style tables are perfect for groups and families, whilst ensuring you remained appropriately social distanced. With large-screen TVs for watching the games, an impressive bar with countless steins going out and of course a German-style fitted interior, The Bavarian is the ideal place to enjoy bottomless drinks and classic German dishes with the joyful buzz you’d expect from your local pub.

Other upcoming events at The Bavarian include a set menu for Ocktoberfest and a daily Happy Hour from 4-6pm.
