There was a lot of free time to watch movies over lockdown but nothing measured up to grabbing some popcorn and a choc time and watching a new release on the big screen.

As of today, tickets go on sale for Dendy Canberra which is reopening on Thursday 9 July. Expect new films and recent favourites you have thought you’d missed out on.

Thankfully, the cinemas are back just in time for school holidays. If last school holidays lacked fun this is a great way to make up for missed time. Kids favourites Inside Out, Frozen, Samsam, Sonic, The Jungle Book, Red Shoes and Toy Story will all be playing.

Kids weren’t the only ones missing out though. Has anyone else struggled for date night options with a lack of hospitality or the go-to cinema date?

For those who have been missing horror movies and an excuse to snuggle up, The Wretched launches in July, a defiant teenage boy, struggling with his parent’s imminent divorce, faces off with a thousand year-old witch, who is living beneath the skin of and posing as the woman next door.

In accordance with government mandates, Dendy will be operating their cinemas on a reduced capacity so bookings are highly recommend to avoid disappointment. Socially distant seating will feel as though you have the entire cinema to yourself.

Extra safety measures have been implemented including social gathering restrictions, cleaning protocols, automatic hand sanitisers and contactless payment to ensure you feel safe when going to watch your next flick.
