Following a sell-out 2023 season, Ballet International Gala V (BIG) will be performing in Canberra for the first time!
Bringing world-class dancers from the world’s most prestigious ballet companies like Daniil Simkin (American Ballet Theatre Principal), Iana Salenko (Royal Ballet Guest Principal), Marian Walter (Staatsballett Berlin Principal), Marcus Morelli (Australian Ballet Principal), Sharni Spencer (Australian Ballet Principal) and many more, watch as they perform a highlight reel of the most exciting parts of iconic ballets.
Coming to the Canberra Theatre Centre on Friday 19 August, the artists will perform pieces from fan favourites such as Black Swan, Don Quixote, Corsaire, Dying Swan, Giselle and more.
Concluding with its signature all-star finale, each artist will compete with one another by showcasing their most impressive solo performances in a captivating final wave-off. This will include an amazing Rock n’ Roll act performed by talented Australian musicians that will highlight the excitement and power of these international ballet superstars!
Since making its debut in 2022, BIG has attracted ballet’s biggest-ever names to perform across Australia, including principal artists from The Royal Ballet, Teatro Alla Scala, Bolshoi Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Staatsballett Berlin, and the Australian Ballet. The bite-sized offerings have attracted a new wave of ballet lovers, making the art more accessible and enjoyable for generations to come.
