Don’t leave your contemporary art hidden away in your studio. There a few opportunities around Canberra to have your talent on display.

Art, Not Apart

Canberra’s largest contemporary arts festival, Art, Not Apart, invites artists to present soulful works that fill the void left by the indifference in today’s society. The festival is set to return on 16 March 2019 for a curated outburst of performances, exhibitions, film, projection, installations, interactive experiences and two afterparties. With over $50,000 available for artists to realise their projects, Art, Not Apart 2019 is a call to arms for artists to protect the soul of our city and country.

The festival will thread together exceptional indoor and outdoor spaces throughout New Acton, The Shine Dome, and National Film and Sound Archive with artworks and performances of passion and desire.

Submissions are due by 6pm, Thursday 1 November 2018. Artists are encouraged to apply here.

Your Art. Our Halls

QT Canberra has called on locals to be brave and original as part of the Your Art. Our Halls’ initiative which enables artists to collaborate with the boutique hotel by showcasing their work in the hotels eccentric lobby.

Already, one lucky local is being showcased in the QT lobby; Victoria Ter Kuile’s work ‘Essence’ depicts an emblematic Australian landscape, featuring the iconic colours of Australia’s outback and flora, framed within a portrait of a charismatic, pensive Indigenous man.

QT Canberra will be opening up its lobby space to promising new talent each month, giving them the unique opportunity to showcase their work in style.

Entry into the ‘Your Art. Our Halls’ initiative is open to all residents of the greater Canberra Region aged 18 years and over, running until 30 June 2019. Entrants are able to submit their artwork proposal via an online portal during this period.

Submissions and a full terms and conditions can be found here.
