A ‘so bad it’s good’ kind of café, Bad Bunny Eatery has hopped into the City with a whole lot of gusto and intrigue, with its bright pink interior and sandwich-heavy menu.

From what started as a simple concept name, Bad Bunny has become more than just standard branding, taking diners through the backstory of a notoriously bad bunny on the run for petty crime. Translating this into the café, the head-to-toe pink walls and cheeky jail-themed props are bold, fun and can’t be missed.

“We wanted something different that the market hadn’t seen before. So, we thought if we’re going to have a name like Bad Bunny then we should go all out,” says Owner Jaye Min.

Owner of American and Japanese-style burger joint Mookie Burgers, Jaye is well versed in providing an easy grab-and-go option that doesn’t compromise on taste and quality, which is what he has employed at Bad Bunny.

Offering a café menu with an extensive list of gourmet sandwiches, on the menu you’ll find on-brand items including ‘Smooth Chia-minal’, a choc-nut chia, blue banana smoothie with coconut granola and fruit; ‘Bunny’s Hole’, a sesame bagel with double bacon, egg, cheese and hash brown with their mafia sauce; ‘2 Smoke’n Barrels’, a meatball sub with Napolitana, Parmigiano, rocket, basil and steak fries; and ‘Brisk-searched’, a 16hr brisket sandwich with pickles, Swiss and American cheese, cornichons and mustard.

“We’ve got the full café menu, but our customers have reacted really well to the sandwiches,” says Head Chef, Madi Manning.

“The brisket sandwich is definitely our most popular followed by the meatballs and pork,” she says.

Introducing even more sandwiches, targeting those with dietary requirements, diners can expect exciting plant-based options.

“We’re going to re-tweak the menu with a lot more vegan sandwiches that are similar to our meat options. A pulled mushroom vegan sandwich that can also be gluten-free will feature on the menu, and we’ve been playing around with a lot of other exciting flavours and concepts,” says Madi.

A family-friendly venue, with plenty of fun Instagram opportunities, check out the notorious sandwiches for yourself.
