Corinbank is back in ’09. The award-winning, music, arts and adventure festival is set to be staged in the stunning mountain setting of Corin Forest again this year, on 27th Feb – 1st March.

Only 45 minutes drive from Canberra’s City centre Corin Forest last year proved a magical site for Corinbank.

Nestled in the mountains, the Corinbank site stretches for kilometres; with a handful of stages, a bunch of markets, flurry of workshops, un-expected creative campsites and a multitude of activities along the way.

With the first already announced, and the second to be released on Thursday, we can happily confirm that Corinbank ’09 has a stellar line-up. With headliners Blue King Brown and Mat McHugh (The Beautiful Girls), Resin Dogs Sound System, Darren Hanlon, and The Beez from Germany.

As always, Corinbank supports Canberra talent with a huge local music presence; The Andi & George Band, The Crooked Fiddle Band, Juke Baritone and the Swamp Dogs, Mal Webb, The Fuelers, Casual Projects, April Maze, D’Opus & Roshambo, Rubycon, Richard Perso, Daniel Champagne, Friendly Yen, Mr Fibby and the Cashews. More bands to come!

“Including a high proportion of local indie acts on our bill has benefits for performers and audiences alike, Mark Bradley said, Artistic Director.

“The audiences also have a chance to appreciate new music from bands that are local and accessible to them. And by playing alongside our national and international guests local acts can broaden their professional networks. All these benefits help to build and sustain the local scene.”

If you thought Corinbank was merely a ‘music festival,’ you were misinformed dear sir! The 3 day experience offers unique opportunities, like mountain biking adventures to Gibraltar Falls for one.

You can also catch a yoga class on the banks of Gibraltar pond, join in workshops on percussion, song writing, guitar tricks and a bunch more, perform in the festival choir or the Chai tent chalk board sessions, and be part of the program by offering your own Creative Campsites.

Still have an apetite? Great! Because Corinbank has more in store, with markets full of goodies, and multicultural cuisine stations where you can sample healthy and worldly bites.

“While Corinbank offers an extensive program of entertainment and activities, they key to maximum festival enjoyment is to immerse yourself through participation.”

The environmental friendliness of the 2008 festival saw Corinbank pick up two Keep Australia Beautiful Sustainability Awards. In 2009 Corinbank’s Green Kulture will blossom from a collaborative idea and tent (2008) to a full village with an amazing array of creative campsites, run by over 30 participating community groups.

Punters are encouraged to build their own Creative Campsites and contribute to the Tent Village.

This unique 3-day experience should not be missed! Buy your ticket online now @ www.corinbank.com, under 16’s FREE.
