A new Mediterranean restaurant has opened, four doors down from Tongue & Groove on Genge street, Canberra City.

The restaurant, Taze (pronounced Tar-zay) is set to encompass a fusion of Greek and Turkish cuisine in an up-tempo city atmosphere.

“We are the first in the capital to serve one metre long pide, which has been brought to Canberra from Turkey by our chef, Oscar,” said Nathan Lamont, Restaurant Manager.

“We serve traditional Mediterranean dishes like skewers fresh off the char-grill, cigara borek with feta and parsley topped with mint yogurt, and vine leaves with toasted pine nuts and homemade salsa.”

The drinks list includes single malt scotches, wines form Argentina, France, Spain, Italy and Australia.

The team also make all breads and pides in-house in their wood-fired oven.

Taze is open now and will trade 7 days for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Ph (02) 6262 6601.
