Celebrating 23 years of short film excellence Flickerfest remains Australia’s leading short film festival returning to Canberra with its ‘Spectacular Short Films With Soul’ on Thursday the 20th of March at the Dendy cinema.

Once again Flickerfest will continue to screen a smorgasbord of award winning shorts handpicked from over 2200 entries from their Academy® Accredited Australian competition.

Highlights of the programme screening in Canberra include:

Horrie, a delightful short documentary about the hero war dog of the Mediterranean written and directed by Lucas Li who studied at ANU then taught at CIT and the University of Canberra.

Vote Yes set in May 1967 and focusing on Australia’s referendum on Aboriginal rights, as two women unite and come to terms with the prospect of change, starring Miranda Tapsell from The Sapphires.

Tango Underpants starring Carolyn (Emma Booth) a young Australian backpacker who travels to Buenos Aries where she discovers not only the wonders of the tango but also the vital importance of the right underwear.

Let these bites of cinematic splendour amaze and inspire you, following the screening will be a glamorous after-party with complimentary drinks.
