Screams of children having enormous amounts of fun at Questacon will soon transform into the squeals of ultimate fan-girls. On Monday 2 September Questacon is dimming the lights and welcoming the latest Bachelor, Matt Agnew for their special adults-only night of science. Ladies, this event is before the season final airs so you’ll have one last shot to steal his attention before he confesses his love (or drops a knee) for one of the contestants.

How is this science you ask? Unfortunately, guests won’t be uncovering his fortunate DNA or learning how to replicate it, instead Dr Matt Agnew will be guest speaking on Astrophysics. Alongside Matt, see Nobel Prize winner Professor Brian P. Schmidt; take a tour through the history of the universe with Survivor Sam Hinton; The Voice’s Lucy Sugerman and Mixtape Chorus will share some live tunes; test your taste genes with nutrigeneticist Dr Emma Beckett; and hear about Medical Marvels in cancer treatments.

Join the Australian Academy of Science to explore the iconic exhibitions and experience a dazzling array of pop-up science, interactive displays and live music with food, wine and beer in hand to keep you switched on. For just $15 you can play with, discover and be entertained by the quirks and wonders of science with some of Australia’s brightest young minds.

Please note: “In conversations” with Prof Brian Schmidt and Dr Matt Agnew, will run for 20 minutes each and run at 6.45pm, 7.30pm and 8.15pm. There are strictly limited seats available for each show. Attendees will need to hold an additional ticket to enter the Japan Theatre at Questacon for these shows, and these FREE tickets are available only from 6.00pm outside the Japan Theatre, not prior to the event.
