This Saturday 18 March, bring your family and friends down to Lake Burley Griffin to watch the night sky light up in a spectacular musical showcase of fireworks.

Skyfire is back and bigger than ever. Join in as over 100,000 people gather for an explosive display of fireworks accompanied by HIT 104.7’s simulcast. The day is jam-packed with something fun for everyone.

Things to do

Start off the day at the Family Fun Zone. Bring the kids along during the day to hop, jump and bounce along on the Patrick White Lawns. Watch the Navy Squirrels and Snowy Hydro from the comfort of the ground as they deliver a show-stopping aerial and helicopter display.

Continue into the night with free live entertainment from 7pm at Regatta Point with acts including DJ Horizon, Busby Marou and more all before the fireworks display at 8.30pm. Check out the full program schedule here.

Eat

There will be no shortage of food this year at Skyfire with vendors including hot dogs at Dapto Dogs, Opa Greek Food, What the Phở, Italian Traveller Gelato, Cannoli Brothers, Nita’s Snacks, Bush Bread of Australia and Nonna’s Pida. Transport

The city is going to be busy with road closures, but don’t worry if you need transport plans – we got you!

Transport Canberra will be running additional services with buses to Albert Hall or Regatta Point on Commonwealth Avenue. The best way to get there from Belconnen, City, Woden and Tuggeranong is to catch the Blue Rapid Route 900, with services departing every 15 minutes or better.

If you are in Gungahlin or Tuggeranong catch the Skyfire Special Route 994 that will take you directly to Regatta point. Transport Canberra will also be providing FREE return services to major bus stations including City, Belconnen, Gungahlin, Woden, Erindale and Tuggeranong, departing from Regatta Point and Langton Crescent (Treasury Building) stops.
