You might be surprised to hear that Mawson is a place of decadence. Bear with me though, and you might learn something about this Southside centre.

It’s hard to believe among the boutiques and the constant changing hands that this is a growing suburb, but truly this is a place to get your haircut (especially if you like variety!) as you will find several salons and at least two barbers here among the jewellers and restaurants.

If you need more reasons to visit Mawson, here are a few.

Decadence itself lives in a small shop on Mawson Place. Bruno’s Truffels are made in the traditional and painstaking way, resulting in the luscious flavours and the rich textures of Swiss chocolate. Bruno has taken care of variety as well, pineapple, rum, caramel, dark, milk and white chocolate. Take your coffee in comfort, choosing from the bakery and combining your own assortment of lavish pieces. Divine

For social requirements along with dinner and cocktails into the night the Mawson Club is a very comfortable spot. Large and accommodating and filled with an ambience that asks its patrons to stay for a while, the Mawson Club is split into several bars, function areas and the Citrus Café.

The Blue Note Lounge is good for sitting and chatting, in its plush couches and flattering lighting. Contrastingly, The Garden Bar takes its customers outside with a Lemongrass Martini and deep reds in the décor – perfect for a few cheeky drinks on a night out!

Perhaps you are looking for a more dedicated dinner venue? The popular Olive at Mawson will take your taste buds to the Mediterranean and hold them there for the duration of the evening. Traditional flavours will have you salivating just from reading the menu. Duck breast, veal or a meze plate for lunch or dinner all goes down well with a glass of wine, some friends and some family to eat, drink and be merry with. Six days a week the restaurant opens its doors and invites you across the world to the Mediterranean.

Just Clowning Around is a survivor of Mawson hands exchange. Within its walls is a glorious collection of costumes that the staff somehow memorise in order to help the inexperienced customer. Delve in to the treasure trove for inspiration on that next costume party. Just tie a rope around your stomach and step in!

As acute little suburban centre, Mawson has the hard-to-find, boutiques of unique and interesting, desire quenching items of taste and of intricacy. This is not the place to come for things that are needed but it is the place for things that are craved… and we love it!
