BentSpoke is throwing open the brewery doors for a Winter Feast at the Cannery – bringing together local live music, craft beer and the best low and slow smokehouse style BBQ.

Located at 79 Lysaght St in Mitchell, the Cannery is the site of BentSpoke’s production brewery with the 1000sqm outdoor space repurposed to house the inaugural Winter Feast 25 & 26 July.

Through lockdown the Mitchell Cannery transformed into a handy drive thru bottle’o, this weekend it will be a beer and BBQ wonderland.

As expected the feature of the weekend will be the container bar pouring 12 BentSpoke tap beers; including a great line up of IPA’s, winter dark beers, “Hot off the Press” warmed spiced cider and selected local wines. The beers have been carefully selected to align with the season and cut through the Canberra chill.

In addition to the spiced cider warming you from the inside out, stand around a fire pit while listing to live music. BentSpoke has asked Black Bear BBQ to keep the crowds fed with classic low and slow smokehouse BBQ like Brisket boxes, Beef Short Rib and Maryland chicken. They will also have vegetarian options available. Sounding like the perfect weekend yet?

All sessions times across the weekend will host local stars like Electric Tommy Johnson, Bent Folk Saturday, and Country Music Sunday. To celebrate Indie Beer Day on Saturday 25, BentSpoke will steal the show with free brewery tours, roller racing and specialty beers pouring.

“We are looking forward to taking advantage of our large outdoor space to put on a great event while still following ACT Covid guidelines. Fire pits, craft beer, live music and great food are the perfect match for the clean and crisp full-bodied Canberra winters.” Richard Watkins Co-founder and Head Brewer
