Since opening its gates in 2018, Mona Farm has made a name for itself as a destination where art, nature, and refined rural hospitality meet. Known for hosting high-profile guests and curating standout experiences, the farm’s legacy now extends into the heart of Braidwood with the revival of the heritage-listed Albion Hotel.
Much like its sister business, The Albion promises country charm with a contemporary edge. Once you step inside you’re met with timber floorboards, weathered fireplaces, and the scent of something warm and freshly baked wafting from the kitchen. It all feels comforting, like your favourite country café, but take a little look closer and the Mona magic reveals itself.
Under the creative direction of Executive Chef Keira Madeley, the menu is a clever mix of nostalgia with dishes that feel like home but taste like something new. While you’ll still find your favourite staples, like Slow Cooked Duck Salad, Sweet Potato Eggs, and Ginger Rice Pudding remind guests that they’re in the hands of a team that has built its success on balancing the old with the new.
And now, that offering has grown. Launching last week, Albion Nights sees the venue open its doors for dinner every Friday and Saturday evening. A seasonal selection of snacks and share plates, such as Grilled King Prawns, handmade Pappardelle, Yellow Fin Tuna and Wagyu Picanha make it easy to lose track of the night.
The drinks list is just as carefully curated, showcasing small-batch Australian producers like Victoria’s Momento Mori and a local Canberra favourite Collector Wines. You’ll also find boutique beers and classic cocktails with a twist, from Limoncello Spritzers to a Spicy Margarita crafted by their in-house mixologist.
“This isn’t just dinner or a quick bite,” says Millie Di Maio, General Manager of Mona Farm. “We called it Albion Nights because we want it to feel like a place where you sit, stay and connect – a sophisticated hub for our community.”
The Albion is open for breakfast and lunch daily from 7:30am–2:30pm on weekdays, and until 3pm on weekends. Albion Nights runs every Friday and Saturday from 5pm–9pm. Whether you’re a Braidwood local, passing through, or a Mona Farm guest, The Albion is the kind of place to settle into on your weekend.
