This spring Canberra is the place to be for wine enthusiasts and novices alike, with a jam packed calendar of events kicking off with Tasting 101 on Thursday 23 October.

Following the outstanding success of last years 100 Years, 100 Wines, Canberra’s finest wineries are back with Tasting 101 – 101 wines and more at Hotel Realm, Barton.

In its second year, this is one of the largest tastings of Canberra District Wines the capital has seen under on roof, showcasing to consumers a taste of what lies beyond the cities boundaries, in their own backyard.

Twenty of the Canberra District’s best wineries will showcase their new release offerings, including some of the District’s icons and multiple medal winners.

From Riesling to Shiraz, Tempranillo to Grüner Veltliner; the known and not-so-well-known, the variety of styles and wines on tasting will ensure something to tantilise the taste buds.

For a one off entry fee of only $30.00 consumers will have the opportunity to sip and swirl [spitting allowed!] more than 100 wines from some 20 plus of the regions leading wine producers.

Taste and critique with the winemakers, land, find an old favourite [or a new one] and pick up an order form to order home delivery for those upcoming spring and summer festivities.

There will be cheese and music, and all round good times to be had at this tasting which kicks off at 5.30pm on Thursday 23 October, until doors close at 8.30pm. As an added bonus guests may keep their own souvenir tasting glass, as well as a chance to win a fabulous lucky door pack featuring the wines on show for simply attending.

A perfect opportunity to get a taste for the region and that all important inspiration for planning spring visits to the vineyards including upcoming itinerary for the annual Wine Roses and all That Jazz Festival just some 10 days later on the weekend of 1-2 November.
