The centre court at the Tuggeranong Hyperdome was buzzing last Saturday morning with Canberra fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of television’s fabulous woman of style, Carrie Bickmore.
Carrie is the Ambassador for the Hyperdome’s Fashion and Beauty Uncovered Campaign, which has been running since September to equip women across Canberra with an exciting alternative to having their very own stylist.
To celebrate the launch of new season style, Carrie was flown to Canberra (her first time here) from Melbourne to host the Spring Summer 13 fashion show alongside stylist Mils Achi. The runway show highlighted four key trends for the current and upcoming seasons including, Polka Dots, Sports Luxe, Neon and Parisian Chic. Mils and Carrie discussed each look offering tips and tricks, dos and don’ts and some great ideas for taking each look from day to night.
Throughout the show Carrie also chatted about her gig on The Project. She spilled that behind the news desk her co-hosts occasionally wear comfy sneakers with their suits and, put everyone’s suspicions to rest, that she actually does wear bottoms, but says sometimes it can get a bit chilly so she has a blanket to keep her warm.
It wasn’t long before the show had wrapped up and Carrie was off home, however she was kind enough to stay a little while extra to thank each person for coming to watch, sign autographs and take pictures with fans. 104.7 were also on hand, set up with drinks for the now thirsty fashionistas ready to shop up a storm.
