National Zoo & Aquarium

The National Zoo & Aquarium have recently announced their newest arrival, the third Giraffe calf to mum Mzungu and dad Shaba. The National Zoo & Aquarium is a part of the accredited international breeding program for giraffes, and this birth will prove of benefit to the continuation of their species.

The perfect reason for a family day out or couples picnic at the zoo!

Go swimming!

You don’t need to go to the coast to go swimming, why not head out to Uriarra crossing or Casuarina Sands for a quick dose of nature, fresh air and a refreshing dip.

Don’t forget to take your puppy! With Canberra in the midst of a hot summer, don’t forget your pets need relief from the heat as well.

GoBoat

There’s nothing quite like skippering your own boat, free from the worries of the world. Even better if it’s with your best friends or your family! See Canberra from a different angle this summer, GoBoat is a great opportunity to get out for a picnic on the lake!

Hiking

One of the best things about living in Canberra is the accessibility to an abundance of unspoilt nature without leaving the city. As we take the name of the ‘bush capital’ to new heights, check out our article on the best hiking spots in Canberra.

VerityLane

Verity Lane, a chef-driven food hall open in Northbourne Avenue’s historic Sydney Building sees some of Canberra’s best chef’s congregate in the professional kitchens to create a gastronomic ground zero in the heart of the city.

And of course, every great food hall comes equipped with world-class drinks served directly from the early 20th century inspired Verity Bar and feature an array of exceptional wines, spirits and craft beers, as well as a cocktail list curated by the cocktail connoisseur, Benito Drovandi.

A great opportunity to get out and experience what Canberra has to offer.
