The National Zoo & Aquarium is getting into the spring spirit with ‘Zoo in Bloom’, a seasonal celebration running throughout the Floriade period. 

From Saturday 12 September to Sunday 11 October, the Weston zoo will be filled with live floral arrangements, giant flower blooms and interactive activities designed to bring a little extra colour to your next visit. 

 

Flowers, Pollinators and Plenty to Explore 

Running throughout the school holidays, Zoo in Bloom is about so more than just pretty petals. This year, the focus is on pollinators and the animals that play an important role in keeping their environments thriving. 

As you wander the grounds, you’ll be able to learn more about the role played by birds, bugs, lemurs and other animals, with educational activities running alongside the floral displays. 

It’s an easy spring outing for families, animal lovers and anyone looking for a fresh reason to revisit the zoo. 

Best of all, Zoo in Bloom is included with general admission or zoo membership. 

 

Flowers, Food and Festival Fun 

If you haven’t visited in a while, the National Zoo & Aquarium has plenty to keep you busy beyond the blooms. 

You can explore the open-air enclosures, stop by the aquarium, follow the discovery trails or let the kids make the most of Adventureland while you take in the spring setting. 

Zoo in Bloom will also run alongside the zoo’s Wild Festivals of Fun weekend, adding live music, international food stalls, games and giveaways to the school holiday program. 

 

Stay Somewhere Wild 

For anyone wanting to turn the visit into something bigger, there’s also Jamala Wildlife Lodge.
