International rugby union returns to GIO Stadium this Friday night, with the Wallaroos taking on Scotland in their final home test of 2026.

Australia heads into the match with plenty of momentum after two wins over Scotland in the past month, including a 56–12 victory in Sydney last weekend. But the Wallaroos aren’t getting ahead of themselves, with the squad intent on raising the bar as they continue building towards the 2029 Women’s Rugby World Cup.

Captain Siokapesi Palu Sekona says there’s still room to improve, with the team focused on sharpening its set-piece accuracy, discipline and work at the ruck to deliver another complete performance on home turf.

A Home Game for Faitala Moleka

For ACT Brumbies star and local favourite Faitala Moleka, Friday night is a chance to play on familiar turf in front of a home Canberra crowd.

“I love it. I don’t think Canberra ever disappoints,” Moleka says. “Just having like, you know, my own personal friends and family here, it’s so nice to be at home.”

The squad has spent the week working on combinations and preparing for one final meeting with Scotland, but it’s also a significant week for the playing group following veteran Wallaroo Em Chancellor’s announcement that she’ll retire from international rugby.

“We’ve had Em Chancellor announce her retirement, and she’s the epitome of what hard work is,” Moleka says.

“I’m pretty confident going into this game, but only if we do our roles individually. So if we do that, hopefully we’ll come out with the win on Friday.”

Post-Match Traditions

Once the final whistle blows and the work on the field is done, Moleka has her post-match plans sorted.

“There’s this pho place in Dickson. It’s amazing. Just a fat feed after a good game,” she laughs. “That’s all you need.”

So grab the green and gold and head to Bruce for one last chance to see the Wallaroos on home soil in 2026.
